Hilary Flower is a scientist-turned-author from St. Petersburg, Florida. She teaches at Eckerd College and studies how climate change and sea level rise affect the Everglades. To bring science to a wider audience, she has written for the Tampa Bay Times and the Sun Sentinel.

Her first book, The Kite and the Snail, tells the surprising story of one of Florida’s most endangered birds. She speaks across the state about Florida’s wildlife and conservation.
